So the long awaited history has been made, India has played their first ever FIFA Worldcup match against USA at the Jahwarlal Neheru Stadium, New Delhi on the occasion of FIFA U17 WORLDCUP India 2017.
Though the Group A fixture ended 3-0 in favour of USA , India were not outplayed by any means. They had their chances and the score line doesn't justify India's performance. Playing for the first time the youngsters played their heart out and there was glimpses of a very bright footballing future of our country.
At such young age its not easy to carry the dreams of 1.2billion people on your shoulders but the young ones did their best , they fought hard they never broke down easily they gave it all to make the nation proud and they really did so. As they grow up expectations will be high and hopefully one day they will be the reason for a happier India. All we have to do is to get behind them. This is just the start of a journey which will give our nation a new identity , a footballing identity.
